Expired Domain
Well, what a horrendous domain provider.
If I hadn't been watching a domain, we would have never of known it had expired!
The domain provider had gladly emailed to say that it was due to expire on the 19th October.
Sent an email to get a Transfer Code so instead of paying £35 +VAT for 2 years, we could manage it ourselves without using an un-encrypted DNS Site.
Little did I know, it actually expired last night and the DNS records were dead at 9 am this morning!
That was it, website and email dead! Â If I hadn't checked not too long ago, we wouldn't of found out until either tomorrow or Monday!
That could have lost business, cost money and would have been very disruptive!
So, come Monday, going to get a Transfer Code without paying them due to their incompetence of letting the domain expire.
That's going to be interesting..
I will update this Monday!
14-03-2021
Well, Monday came and well... When did I originally post this?!
10th October 2020.... 10-10-2020
Let's see, what's happened since then?? NOTHING!
I have been ignored, ignored, ignored and ignored.
I have contacted this company several times, sent then emails, made phone calls and have just been ignored every time.
It's unbelievable that they keep doing this, how they can justify ignoring a customer, especially one they screwed over.
What do they want for 2 years on a .com?? £43!
Can I really justify paying that much when all they are doing is just renewing a domain?? Â Which they can't even do properly!
Bloody hell, this nightmare is just dragging along.. I mean, at any point, they can kill our domain and not lose any sleep.
I keep being told to be gentle.... Â long time friends... but, I can't trust this company, They don't understand technical details, they don't run SSL on there control panel for the web hosting or DNS..
I have an email telling them that they don't have an SSL on there cp.crappyhost.com but, they told me the price on a SSL Certificate.. I mean.. how stupid do you have to be?!?!
I will update this if and when I get an bloody answer... So... maybe in 2 years?!
